Learner Driving License Lahore – In an effort to facilitate and simplify the process of obtaining a learner’s license, the Lahore Traffic Police has introduced a revolutionary initiative effective from December 6, 2023.
Learner’s licenses will now be available at the front desk of police stations across Lahore, marking a significant departure from the cumbersome procedures of the past.

Led by the Inspector General of Punjab, the initiative was hailed by the public as an important step towards making the licensing process simpler and more accessible.
However, with convenience comes a cost. With this positive change, the Punjab government has announced a hike in car and motorcycle license fee effective from January 1, 2024. This fee will increase significantly from 60 to 1000.

New Driving License Spots in Lahore
Ammara Athar, chief traffic police officer Lahore, is taking more convenient initiative to ease the difficulties in attempting the driving test and getting a driving license. Test camps for test driving have been opened at another four different locations in Lahore including Gaddafi Stadium, Gala Stadium, Defense Phase-6 Head Office and Jilani Park. These camps, which operate from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM, aim to simplify the testing process, reduce congestion, and reduce long lines.
Driving License Deadline
The government has given a grace period to mitigate the impact on the public. Applicants must obtain a driving license by December 31, 2023 at current rates.
Announced on December 5, 2023, this fee announcement serves as a reminder to drivers who want to take advantage of the opportunity and get their license before the fee increases.
The dual developments in Lahore’s licensing arena show the authority’s commitment to improving driving efficiency while encouraging driving skills among the population.

Driving License Fee Increased
In a surprising move, the Lahore Traffic Police recently announced that the provincial government has approved a significant increase in driving license fees for cars and motorcycles.
According to the official notification issued in X, the Punjab government has decided to increase the cost by 1566% and increase the amount from Rs.60 to Rs.1000.
The controversial decision drew a lot of criticism on social media platforms. Many residents expressed their dissatisfaction, admitting that the fee rising time is inappropriate considering that motorists obey traffic rules.
