Taxes in MEPCO Bill

Here is the detail of common taxes you’ll usually see on the MEPCO bill:

FPA (Fuel Price Adjustment)

FPA stands for Fuel Price Adjustment. The FPA rate on the Mepco bill refers to the fuel cost of the Petroleum Rental Company, and you can see this amount on your bill when the fuel price changes.

TR Surcharge

T.R stands for Tariff Rationalization Charge. This is mainly the difference between NEPRA and GOP rates. If the difference is positive, it will be paid as a “subsidy” by the GOP. But in case of a negative difference, the distribution company will pay the GOP “Inter DISCO Tariff Rationalization Charge (IDTR SUR)”.

FC Surcharge

FC stands for finance charge. Officials have decided to charge 43 paise per unit as the FC surcharge to collect the debt service of Power Holding Private Limited.

Deferred Amount

This is your bill amount, which must be paid in the same month or later. There are no late fees for deferred amounts, and the amount can be paid in full or in part on your next payment.

QTR Tariff Adj./DMC

This is the amount of the quarterly tariff adjustment. You will see this amount on your invoice quarterly (every 3 months).

MEPCO Peak Hours

MEPCO recommends reducing the use of electricity during peak hours, which will help reduce the electricity bill and stabilize the electricity supply to the entire region. Here are the MEPCO peak hours:
