Locally Assembled Cars in Pakistan Under 1000cc: New Prices
Since a few years ago, import taxes and duties on CBU cars have risen to historic levels, with customs duties ranging from PKR 1.3 million (below 800 cc) to PKR 7.5 million (above 1600 cc) on new imported cars. In that case, buying a brand new imported car might not be a good deal in 2024, and you might prefer locally assembled cars in Pakistan. So, here we bring you the best locally assembled cars under 1000 cc in Pakistan with current prices.
Locally Assembled Cars in Pakistan Under 1000cc
Here is the list of the best locally assembled cars in Pakistan under 1000 cc with current prices. Let’s start with the Suzuki Alto:
Suzuki Alto
Suzuki Alto is also one of the best-selling locally assembled cars in Pakistan, with 66,427 units sold in 2022. PSMC announced this as a record sales figure for a single model.
The reason for its popularity is its moderate fuel consumption. The engine is small 658 cc R04, light weight 600 kg, and slim tires can offer an economy of 20–25 Km / l.
In Pakistan, the Alto starts at PKR 2.3 million for the VX base variant and goes up to PKR 3.0 million for the VXL AGS (top variant).
We know 2.3 million are still unaffordable, but unfortunately, due to inflation, it is the cheapest car you can buy in Pakistan.
There are a total of four options available from Pak Suzuki Motors Pakistan:
Suzuki Alto Variants | Price |
Alto VX | PKR 2,331,000/- |
Alto VXR | PKR 2,707,000/- |
Alto VXR-AGS | PKR 2,894,000/- |
Alto VXL-AGS | PKR 3,045,000/- |
Differences in Suzuki Alto Variants
Both the VXR and VXL are manual. However, the VXL has a dark interior with tinted door handles and side mirrors. The VXL AGS is the only model to offer automatic gear shifting.
Suzuki WagonR
WagonR is a popular PSMC model and one of the best locally assembled cars in Pakistan. It has a 998cc DOHC 12-valve engine mated to a 5-speed manual and automatic in the top variant. Of course, being a Suzuki car, you can expect a good average from this model as well. With normal mileage, the WagonR is capable of offering an average fuel efficiency of 14-18 Km / l.
Unlike the Alto, the Wagon R won’t give you a power-to-weight ratio thanks to its impressive body weight ratio. However, due to thin tires and low body weight, the car may not be stable above 100 km/h. However, the WagonR is one of the most popular mid-size family hatchbacks.
Suzuki WagonR Variants | Price |
WagonR VXR | PKR 3,214,000 |
WagonR VXL | PKR 3,412,000 |
WagonR VXL-AGS | PKR 3,741,000 |
Differences in Suzuki WagonR Variants
Both the VXR and VXL are manual. However, the VXL has body-colored door handles and side mirrors. The VXL AGS is the only model with an automatic transmission.
Kia Picanto
The Picanto is the first hatchback in Pakistan to compete with Suzuki’s international brand of budget cars, especially the WagonR.
KIA Pakistan offers two basic options: MT and AT. The only difference between them is the transmission; MT is manual transmission, and AT is automatic transmission. The Pakistani Picanto comes with a Euro 2 998cc MPI inline 3-cylinder petrol engine that produces 68 hp and 98Nm of torque.
All the two variants offer a touchscreen panel, rear camera, dual SRS airbags, ISOFIX support, central locking, ABS, keyless entry, and fog lights.
Also, the Picanto’s ride quality is better than the WagonR; even at high speeds, it is not a slouch like the WagonR. However, the company claims an average fuel mileage of 12 Km / l, but many owners claim that the average is no more than 9–10 Km / l.
KIA Picanto Variants | Price |
KIA Picanto 1.0 MT | PKR 3,600,000 |
KIA Picanto 1.0 AT | PKR 3,850,000 |
Differences in Kia Picanto Variants
MT is manual transmission, and AT is automatic transmission.
Suzuki Cultus
Suzuki Cultus is a popular PSMC model. This is an upgraded version of the WagonR with better ride quality, power mirrors, fog lights, and a more spacious interior.
Both WagonR and Cultus offer the same 998CC 12-valve DOHC engine that produces 67 HP @ 6000 RPM. Excluding the base VXR variant, all other variants get ABS, alloy wheels, mirrors, door handles, center console armrests, and dual SRS airbags.
Suzuki Cultus Variants | Price |
Cultus VXR | PKR 3,858,000 |
Cultus VXL | PKR 4,244,000 |
Cultus VXL-AGS | PKR 4,546,000 |
Differences in Suzuki Cultus Variants
The VXL offers body-colored door handles and alloy wheels, while the VXL-AGS offers an automatic gear shift feature.
United Bravo
The United Bravo is a unique 800-cc hatchback on our list of CKD cars. In 2018, it started competing with Suzuki’s best selling car and Pakistan’s first-selling car, Mehran. This is a budget car with some good features like power steering, four power windows, AC, wood trim, and a digital speedometer with an RPM meter.
However, the car was not as successful as expected due to its high build quality. However, if you are on a tight budget, need features, and want a new car, the United Bravo could be a good choice.
United Bravo Variants | Price |
United Bravo | PKR 1,519,000 |
United Alpha
It is the same company United Cars that brought United Bravo, the cheapest 800-cc car in Pakistan. Like Bravo, United Apha is also one of the cheapest 1000-cc cars assembled locally in Pakistan. It comes with a 998cc DOHC 16-valve engine with a 5-speed manual transmission. The car was launched in competition with the WagonR, but of course, who can beat Suzuki’s sales figures?
Alfa offers impressive features like power steering, AC, infotainment, a spacious interior, and better build quality than the Bravo model. However, United couldn’t hit it. However, it is a good zero-meter car considering the budget of PKR 1.8 million.
United Alpha Variants | Price |
United Alpha 1.0 Manual | PKR 1,849,000 |
Prince Pearl
Prince Pearl was brought to Pakistan by DFSK and Prince in 2020 to compete in the Suzuki Alto competition. However, it was not close to the Suzuki Alto in terms of sales. For PKR 1.8 million, the car offers some impressive features like power steering, all electric windows, and an infotainment screen. On the other hand,
Suzki Alto offers these features at PKR 3.2 million (AGS.), so Prince Pearl seems like a good choice, right? But again, build quality isn’t the biggest factor in his successful career. If you still care about features, are on a tight budget, and want a new car, Prince Pearl would be the best choice.
Prince Pearl Variants | Price |
Prince Pearl | PKR 1,85,000 |
