Pakistani Passport Renewal Online – In an effort to provide convenience to the public, the federal government in Pakistan has introduced a new initiative that allows citizens to renew their passports online. The user-friendly e-passport facility is designed to avoid long queues and waiting time while visiting a passport office. Before this digital initiative, getting a new passport, queuing for hours in hot weather and unnecessary delays and hassles were the norm. Citizens can now say goodbye to the tedious and time-consuming task of personally visiting passport office for renewal.

How to Renew Pakistani Passport Online: Documents & Fees
This service is only used for renewal and not for issuing new passports, updating passports, lost passports, or adding new pages, etc. for Pakistanis living in Pakistan and also abroad holding machine-readable passports.
Required Documents (Adults)
To renew your machine-readable passport online, if your current passport expires within next twelve (12) months, you will need the following documents:
- Scanned copies (color) of your valid CNIC, NICOP, Smart CNIC, or NICOP both front and back.
- Scanned copies (color) of first two pages and one random page of your current passport.
- For Pakistanis living abroad, scanned copy (color) of valid Visa, Residence Permit (Iqama), Asylum card, scanned copies of other Nationality Passport (valid)
Required Documents (Minors – Less Than 18 Years)
For the individuals below 18 years, the following documents are required for the renewal of their passports:
- Color scanned copies of valid NICOP, Smart card (Front & Back), B-Form (Computerized), or Family Registration Certificate (Issued by NADRA).
- Color scanned copies of parent’s National ID Cards, must be valid (Front & Back).
- In case of separation, color scanned copies of guardianship certificate or court decision.
- Scanned copy (color) of attestation form (available in the download tab).
- Scanned copy (color) of the Death Certificate if any of parents has passed away.
- In case, living abroad scanned copy (color) of valid Visa, Residence Permit (Iqama), Asylum card, or Other Nationality Passport (valid).

Passport Renewal Fees
Mentioned below are the regular charges for online passport renewal, and can be paid also through valid credit or debit card.
You can visit the website https://onlinemrp.dgip.gov.pk/ and follow mentioned below steps:
- Press on the “Get Started” button.
- Register your account:
- If you are living in Pakistan, you’ll receive an SMS and email code (OTP) for registration.
- If you are living abroad, all necessary verification codes will be sent via email.
- Create your machine-readable passport renewal application and fill-up the required information.
- Enter the address in Pakistan or abroad for your passport delivery.
- Pay the Passport renewal fee using valid Credit Card (Visa or Master only) or Debit Card.
- Fill-up all the necessary details, including current and permanent addresses.
- Upload your latest photograph and all other supporting documents as required.
- Download the Passport renewal form and capture the 4 fingerprints as requested by the system.
- Set the scanner at 600 DPI, JPEG/JPG, and Grayscale, and scan and upload the form again.
- Review carefully all the provided information, sign the declaration, and submit your application online.
The government claims it usually takes around 15 – 20 minutes to complete the Passport Renewal process.
