Required Documents for Walk-in Car Registration
Document requirements for car registration vary by province. In addition, the registration process is also different for local and imported vehicles. To register a vehicle in Islamabad, you will need the following documents:
For Locally Assembled Vehicle Registration
- Original Invoice
- Form F
- CNIC Copy
- Registration Amount
For Imported Car Registration
- Goods Declaration (GD)
- Export Certificate
- Bill of Lading
- Old registration book or Sales Invoice
- Photocopy copy of Passport on whose name vehicle was imported.
Note: Preparing documents in advance is also essential so you don’t have to run back and forth.
Fill in all required details in Form F properly to avoid problems. And carry some extra cash with you just in case; you never know when the fee will increase. CNIC copy is mandatory. Make sure you have a photocopy of the original invoice for your records.

Steps to Follow for Walk-in Islamabad Vehicle Registration:
After filling all documents, you will go to ETO office in Islamabad. There you have to wait your turn.
Biometric Counter
First, you go to biometric counter, where you have to submit CNIC and original invoice. After submission, it will ask you to register your fingerprint or biometrics. You will receive a biometric verification confirmation with your name, biometric number, car chassis number and other relevant details.
Physical Inspection
After receiving the biometric verification confirmation, you will take your car for a physical check. There you have to wait in line with the car. A car inspector will come and check the chassis number and engine number with the information on the F form. Then he will sign it. Now send Form F and invoice at the new registration office. He verifies it and then stamps and signs it.
Vehicle Registration Department
After the physical check, you will again return to the ETO office and now enter the vehicle registration office. There you hand over all the required documents to the designated person. And if you need a special number, you have to ask them for this and a special or golden number. If you want this number, you have to pay for several additional chargers. After all this hassle, they will print a digital form F which will show your registration number.
Challan Form
Now they will give you a challan form. Double check every detail, like CNIC number, address, engine number, chassis number, and also filer status. If everything is fine, send the challan to the bank located in the same office. There you will pay the challan fee. After that, the bank officer will give you a signed copy of the challan form, which you have to submit along with other documents at the vehicle registration office. And finally, you pay the license plate and chip card fees.
