New NADRA NIC Rules For Special Persons in Pakistan
New NADRA NIC Rules: The Federal Government approved important changes in the rules of the National Database and the Registration Authority (NADRA) of 2002 according to Section 44 of the NADRA ordinance, 2000, according to an official press release.
According to the new NADRA NIC rules, these changes are designed to be more inclusive, simplify the documentation, and solve the specific needs of certain groups of people.
New NADRA NIC Rules for Special Persons
One of the main updates in the new NADRA NIC rules is the issue of special identification cards for people with disabilities that will now be valid for lifetime. Both resident and non-resident adult citizens recognized by federal or provincial authorities as “special persons” will be entitled to national identification cards (NICs) with the logo of the wheelchair. NADRA will manage the issuance of these changes.
In children with disabilities, the NADRA will issue a certificate of registration of a child or juvenile cards, which also carry a symbol of a wheelchair and will be valid for the lifetime under the new rules.

New NADRA NIC Rules for Organ Donors
Another major update allows citizens who register as organ donors to receive their NICs with a donor logo, also valid for a lifetime.
Citizens who are both special persons and organ donors will receive a combined card with the logo of the wheelchair and the donor. NADRA will supervise the issue of these special cards with dual status.
In addition, new plans (Schedule VII, VIII, IIX, and X) specify designs and formats for these updated identification cards and certificates, all managed by NADRA.
Moreover, these changes are a key step in government efforts to ensure inclusion and improve identification for people with disabilities and organ donors throughout Pakistan.
By offering lifelong validity for these cards, the government makes it easier for people to access services and will be recognized as their unique contributions to society.
